Ludicrous


Cilantro

I had to look up how to spell Ludicrous....but it really is. Cilantro, people, at $1.99 a bunch.

and no, a bunch is not that basket you see there. A bunch is equal to the very same one you can get for $0.20 at a regular super market in california. The very same one you can get for free in someone's yard.

$1.99....sheesh....and Secret Agent Man's explanation for this? They don't like that kind of stuff here.

Then sell it cheap to those of who do....and to think I never really liked the stuff either. Until I figured out you can't have good Mexican food without it---and without LOTS of it.

Lettuce eat! hahahaa......i'm so laughing alone, aren't I.

Peer Influence

I'm easily swayed.

I have a friend....let's call her...."M"...she's kinda crazy in that she enjoys the pain of running marathons. Lot's of people like physical exercise, it's supposed to be healthy for you and all, but the part that makes M crazy is that she a) does it for the pain and b) does it so she can eat more. Frankly, I can do the eat more part and be perfectly fine without the running.

As, I was saying, I'm easily influenced. So I mention that I'm *not* as energetic as she seems to think I am (really, I'm a lazy ass) and somehow it turns into a five paragraph marathon long (hee hee, pun) motivational email, with links and all and me dragging out brand new running shoes that I bought a year ago when I thought I was motivated enough to start running.

You would think after years of studying peer influences I would know how it all works. *sigh* I'm still a sucker. At least it's healthy.

So now, according to M's plan, I can start putting some sugar goods on this blog without guilt (because if I put it on the blog, it means I have to bake, which means I have to eat, which makes for a fat ass. Fat ass + lazy ass= big mass).

I promise, the sugar rush is coming....

Discomfort...

...and not of the lactose-intolerant kind. When Secret Agent Man and I decided to move, we may have chose it without thinking clearly, maybe had a little too much to drink, maybe even got caught up in the *idea* and stepped outside of who we are (we really are safe, rule-abiding, conflict-avoiding peeps) but it's too late now and all we can do is backwards justify how this was the best decision we could have made (and it is!). But daily, I feel a discomfort... a nagging thought of "are you crazy?" or "life would have been so much easier if you just..." but I hold firm and remember that having a little faith in yourself, facing your fears, meeting a challenge, and finding a little bit of...(shall I be dramatic?)....glory in the discomfort you feel when facing the unknown will lead to great things.

A really good friend of mine, one who was brilliant but never sat on his laurels, read one of my favorite quotes as his valedictorian speech. I remember the spirit of his speech: "Carpe Diem" and the quote he read to fortify (justify) my leaps of faith. I leave you with this small quote but I encourage you to read the entire speech which is so relevant to our times.

Two words: Dry State

hmmm....no, not "dry state" as in HOT, DROUGHT, DESERT state....oh, noooo. "Dry state" as in no easily attainable alcohol. As in, no going to the grocery store to pick up some beer. No stopping at Trader Joe's for a two-buck Chuck on the way to a dinner party. No gin and tonic. The sacrilege!

Okay, I'm being a *little* overly dramatic since there are specific "wine and spirits" shops around town which I am sure will be happy to sell a responsible looking adult some gin but c'mon! *sigh*

In the move, we left all our "spirits" behind because it was too much to pack. I did keep some wine but the one thing I insisted on making room for was my gin that I haven't had a chance to finish off from my graduation (Thanks, ladies--see how important and meaningful that gift was to me??? Secret Agent Man rolled his eyes but packed it to make me happy. Ain't he the best?)

Speaking of which....time to go unpack some more.

I'm here and it's lovely!

Hi friends,
I finally got online and a moment to breathe....and to say hello. Sugar*mama here ---obviously an alias because my hubby, let's call him Secret Agent Man (aka. Sugar*daddy) insists on anonymity and living as far off the grid as the Internet can take us (yeah, you figure that one out)---I digress...where was I?

Oh yeah, Sugar*mama here and sugar muling is what I do. I'll try my best to get you some sugar postings so you can make your own sweets and desserts and pretend that I'm there making it for you. Because, you know, sugar is love. The ironic thing is that I love salt. Anyhooooo.... for those of you who know me and are awaiting my move update from blistering hot Southern California to the nice, balmy breezy Pennsylvania....keep waiting.
